Horse Chestnut Class 17th-21st November

Next week’s learning:

English – Exploring non-chronological reports

Maths – Multiplying three numbers

English:

This week we conducted research on polar bears in preparation for our information reports. We also put our documentarian hats on and wrote information sentences about these animals.

Maths:

We learnt some new vocabulary this week: factor and product. We applied this when discussing how a multiplication sentence can be made up of two or more factors and the answer is called a product. We also looked at multiplying by 1 and 0 and dividing by 1 and itself.

RE:

We continued looking at Hinduism and the concept of karma. We played snakes and ladders again but this time,  we applied the idea of different life forms that Hindus believe. Some players started off at level 1, aquatics, and worked their way up. Others, started at the top as humans and had to try not to move down! We learnt about reincarnation.

Geography:

We began our new Geography topic: Our local Area. We did some field work and explored our local area. We made sketches and labelled what we could see.
