This week in Willow Class we will be:
English: In English this week we will
be continuing our focus on sentences by recapping apostrophes for contractions
and possession. We will also be beginning our first book unit of Year 5 on Varjak
Paw.
Maths: In maths this week we will be
finishing our unit on place value by comparing and ordering numbers to
1,000,000 and exploring rounding to the nearest 10, 100 and 1,000.
Science – Our topic at the present is
Forces. This week we will be finishing our parachute experiment and looking at
gravity.
In our class discussions this week we
will be starting to focus on oracy skills.

In music this week, we got the glockenspiels out and had a go at playing some answering notes.
In PSHE we were discussing our class community and the importance of understanding each other. The played a game called Zombie’s were the only way to be freed was to look and say another persons name. They then had to each act something out that they enjoyed whilst the rest of the class had to guess what it was.
In art this week, we finished out Chris Ofilli inspired pieces by adding a layer of acetate over the top which they painted lines and dots on.
