Next Week:
Literacy – Next week we will be continuing to explore our new text ‘Little Red’. We will be writing more dictated sentences, sequencing the story as well as noticing different features of the story.
Phonics- Next week, we will be continuing our Phase 3 Mastery. We will be revisiting how to recognise and say the sounds ow, oi, ear and air as well as developing our segmenting to read skills and our use of whiteboard time. We will also be practicing our common exception words we have learnt so far and revisiting the CEWs ‘are’ and ‘my’
Maths –Next week we will be learning about time, including days of the week, time of day and ordering events.
Topic/UTW– Next week we will learning about our local area.
This week we have been learning…
Maths – This week we have been learning how to measure and compare length and height. We even got ourselves into height order!
Literacy – The children have been enjoying our new text ‘Little Red’ by Bethan Woollvin. We have been exploring the illustrations, making inferences, learning new vocabulary and writing dictated sentences!
UTW/Topic – This week we have been learning about magnets and how they attract metal. We also enjoyed pancakes for a belated pancake day, forest school and used our art/DT lesson on slot joins to make ‘enclosures’ using the children’s ideas!
Phonics – This week we have been practising the sounds oo, ar, or and ur for our Phase 3 mastery. We are practising our blending, recognising CEW’s they and all as well as segmenting to write words with those sounds in.
