Willow Class, 14th – 18th September 2026

This week in Willow Class we will be:

English: In English, Willow will be beginning to the start the second theme of writing based on Curiosity. This time they will be working towards writing a mission log.

Maths: In maths, our place value topic will be coming to an end before we begin looking at addition and subtraction. The children will be focusing on addition and subtracting up to four digit numbers.

Science – In Science this week we will be looking at forces being pushes and pulls. This week’s lesson will look at another contact force – water resistance.

Big Question: What is the most important thing in life?

Have a look below to see what we’ve been up to this week:

Willow have been super writers in their first piece of extended writing of your five. They have been writing from the point of view of Curiosity – the Mars Rover.

In science last week, we were looking at air resistance. Willow carried out a small experiment using a ball of paper and a flat piece of paper to look at the difference in air resistance upon the two pieces. Some children also had the opportunity to try out the running parachute.

A massive well done to all the children who presented their Climate Ambassador pitches. There was clearly lots of effort put in. Well done everyone, it isn’t easy to present in front of the whole class. You should be very proud of yourselves.
