This term, we have been focusing on ball skills during our P.E sessions with our sports coach Josh. We have been learning how to control the ball with our hands through catching, throwing and bouncing and then with our feet by dribbling and kicking. This week, we have been focusing on throwing the ball into the air and catching with one hand, two hands and then trying to move whilst catching it!
We have really enjoyed our Forest Schools sessions with Holly the past few weeks and will definitely be using some of the skills we have learnt during these sessions back to the Acorn class. This week we enjoyed walking the tightrope, the hammock swing, pond dipping, mud sliding and our absolute favourite drilling muddy puddles! We went searching for nests and bugs and listened to trees with a stethoscope.
This week, we have been celebrating the Platinum Jubilee. We drew portraits of the Queen and wrote facts about her. We made a timeline using pictures from her life. We made finger print union jack flags and nature crowns. On Wednesday, we took part in a Jubilee party with the rest of the school. We made red, white and blue themed fruit kebabs and shared them with our friends at the party. We enjoyed a jubilee song performed by the older children and ate some rather scrummy cakes!
