Health and Fitness Week
Monday
We started off the week with a Wake and Shake on the whole playground- the Acorns really showed off their fantastic dance moves! We then completed the Lawshall Mile around the school field with the whole school. We then made our own healthy picnics talking about the healthy foods we could use. In the afternoon, we ate our picnics on the school field and played with the parachute. We also enjoyed a game of ‘What’s the time Mr Wolf?’ and the water game- we REALLY enjoyed this one!
Wednesday
On Wednesday, we focused on healthy eating. In the morning we made some healthy smoothies. We talked about what needs to go in them to make them healthy for us. The Acorns tried two different types of smoothies- the tropical twist and the berry blast. We tried each and compared tastes. They were very popular! In the afternoon, Mrs Marsden challenged us to design a healthy lunchbox for her. The Acorns drew and labelled their pictures- Mrs M was pleased with our choices!!
Thursday
Thursday’s focus was all about a healthy mind. We started off the day with a peaceful yoga session in the hall- we loved stretching and doing all the different yoga poses. We also had a go at ‘Draw with Rob’ as a calming activity later on in the morning. This was amazing and we were so proud of what we produced! In the afternoon we took part in a whole school sponsored walk- we loved checking on our checkboxes when we did each lap. Some of the Acorns managed 14 laps!!!
Friday- Sports Day!
We ended Health and Fitness week with your annual Sports Day. The Acorns were in different coloured teams and took part in so many different races. We did the sprint, the egg and spoon, the sack race, bean bag throw, cross country and the relay. They were AMAZING!!! We are so proud of them for being absolute stars, having such a good attitude, cheering on their friends and just generally be fantastic.
