Next week, we are learning...
Literacy- Next week, we will be continuing to focus on our Vehicle text ‘The Something’. We will be planning and writing a sentence for the first part of the story using our story friend Octopus Opening.
Maths- Next week, we will be investigating the numbers 1,2,3. We will be creating and counting different representations of these numbers and beginning to practise our subitising skills.
Phonics- Next week, we will be continuing Phase 2 of our Phonics programme ‘Unlocking Letters and Sounds’. We are learning the phonemes h,b,f,ff and common exception words ‘go’.
UTW- Next week, our theme will be ‘The 5 Senses’. We will be learning what the 5 senses are and exploring our senses in a variety of different activities. We will also be learning about a figure from the past – Florence Nightingale and linking it to our learning about our bodies and how to look after them.
This week, we have been learning….
Maths
In Maths, we have been learning about repeating patterns. We learnt how a repeating pattern continues. We spotted repeating patterns, continued repeating patterns and finally created our own repeating patterns.
Literacy
We have been having some ‘Sentence Snake’ time as part of our Literacy lessons where we write a simple sentence together on our whiteboards, thinking about letter formation, finger spaces and segmenting sounds. We have really impressed the Acorn adults with how motivated we are to give this a go!
