Acorn Class 14th- 18th March

We have been learning all about life under the sea this week and have been absolutely loving the story ‘Commotion in the Ocean’ by Giles Andreae. We played a game where we read the clues and had to guess the sea creature. We decided to make our own ‘Guess Who’ game. We drew a secret sea creature underneath and then wrote clues on top. We used our super writer toolkits to remember all the things to include when writing a super sentence. We enjoyed reading the clues to our friends and getting them to guess our sea creature.

We have been focusing on the number 10 this week and ordering objects that represent this number. We made cube towers to match the number cards and then made our own cube staircases. We noticed it was one more each time.

In R.E, our Christian friends Tom and Tessa have been teaching us about the lead up to Easter and why we celebrate it. We listened to the story of Palm Sunday in the bible and decided to act it out. We also learnt about the importance of the cross and why hot cross buns are so popular at Easter time!
