This week, we have been learning about 2D shapes. We talked about the properties and names of a circle, triangle, square and rectangle. We went on a shape hunt around the classroom to spot the shapes! We then sorted the shapes to feed some very hungry shape monsters and made some monster faces using the 2D shapes we had learnt about. We were even inspired by the artist Wassily Kadinsky and tried making our own shape pictures.
Something very exciting happened on Friday! It SNOWED!!! We were so excited so we decided to take our Maths lesson outside and use our shape knowledge to make shapes in the snow. We used our feet and our fingers to make the different shapes, remembering to say the different properties for each one. We then had a little bit of extra fun trying to make a snowman! We had some very soggy Acorns at the end of it, but boy was it worth it!!!
