Literacy– Next week we will be drawing images and writing words or captions to describe different parts of our text ‘Poles Apart’ by Jeanne Willis
Phonics- Next week, we will be finalising our Phase 3 Phonics. We will be learning how to recognise and say the trigraph and digraph ure and er, as well as developing our segmenting to read skills and our use of whiteboard time. We will also be practicing our common exception words we have learnt so far and learning the CEW ‘her’.
Maths –Next week we will be continuing our ‘Alive in 5’ topic. We will be exploring the cardinal value of 0-5 as well as subitising them and adding one more to those amounts.
Topic/UTW– Next week we will learning about the Polar Regions and what animals live there!

Maths – This week we have been identifying and representing 0!
Literacy – The children have really enjoyed our new text ‘Poles Apart’ by Jeanne Willis and have been fantastic at learning new vocabulary and sequencing the story with our story friends.
UTW/Topic – This week we have been learning about Winter – perfect timing with the snow! Acorn class were able to find every item on our Winter scavenger hunt list.
Phonics- This week we have continued our Phase 3 Phonics. We have been learning how to recognise and say the sounds ow, oi, ear, air as well as developing our segmenting to read skills and our use of whiteboard time. We will also learnt the CEW’s ‘are’ and ‘my’.
