Topic/UTW– We will be continuing our exciting topic of pirates and including mermaids this week as well. We will be making mermaid tails in the creative area and exploring the differences of the beach and seaside from the past to now.
This week, we have been learning….
Literacy– We have done some brilliant designing, drawing and writing descriptive sentences of underpants. This was inspired by our story of ‘Pirates Love Underpants’.
Maths– Acorn class have done some fantastic reasoning and solving of mathematic problems – even using their recording skills to help them make sense of the final total. We used ‘Mr Gumpy’s Boat’ and ‘How Many Legs’ as a basis for our mathematical problems.
Topic/UTW– The children have been so excited by the topic of pirates! We have had some amazing treasure map drawing, pirate ship building and treasure finding all this week. We also enjoyed an incredible day at Walton on the Naze for our beach trip.
