We have been learning all about 3D shapes this week- we have sorted, matched and built with the 3D shapes. We have learnt a rather catchy song to help us remember the names- it has been on repeat in Acorn class all week! The Acorns were challenged to build something of their own choice but had to think about the properties of the 3D shapes they used and name them. We had a variety of creations from Elsa’s tower to Dinosaur castles.
This term we have been following a dance unit for our P.E classes. We have learnt to move to a beat and present a sequence of movements to music. This week, we made dances based around our morning routines- waking up, brushing our teeth, eating our breakfast, getting dressed. We worked in groups and performed to the rest of the class.
This week, we visited London!! We read the story ‘Pussycat, Pussycat, Where have you been. I have been to London to Visit the Queen’ which took us on an adventure around London. We learnt about underground tubes and London buses. We found out about lots of the famous London landmarks and decided to build our own landmarks using the construction resources in the classroom. Mrs Marsden was very impressed by our creativity!
