Next week's learning...
Maths: Position and Direction, consolidation activities.
Phonics: le/el spelling rule.
We’ve certainly been busy in Maths this week. Our week started with a recap on positional language. We looked at words such as above, on top of, to the left of, to the right of, in between, etc. We then worked in partners to challenge our partner to create a model using multilink cubes.
Following this, we moved onto looking at moving in set positions: forwards, backwards, left and right. We used these words and positional language to see if our partners were able to follow the path we explained. Some accurate outcomes!
We then up-levelled it even more by introducing anti-clockwise and clockwise turns. We did this very practically like we were military soldiers. The children were recalling quarter, half, three-quarter and whole turns really confidently. I was impressed with their accuracy and how quickly they absorbed their knowledge.
This week, we put some of our stop-motion learning to work! Using the laptops, we created our own stop-motion. We used our techniques of onion skinning so we were able to see where the image was initially so that we could build on this and extend our pictures. I was really impressed with their stickability and determination.
