We have had a great week in English exploring poetry. We have been focusing on the poem “Rhythm of Life” by Michael Rosen. We recognised the features of the poem, looked at the differences between the verses and what the rhythm symbolised. In the later part of the week we performed the original before writing our own. We used all of our creative ideas and developed our rhyming confidence. We created one as a class which you can see below!

Part of our maths learning this week was to identify the sides and vertices of 2D and 3D shapes. What better way to do this than to use sweets! We assembled 2D shapes first before developing these into 3D shapes. The cocktail sticks helped us to identify the number of sides or edges that the shape had and the sweets showed the number of vertices each one had. There was some great stickability and independence in assembling the shapes.
