We have pounced on our cheetah’s learning this week. We spent Monday looking at non-chronological reports and thinking about what features they might need. We then moved onto looking at facts about them, going on a hunt around the room finding them before we inferred which category we thought they fit in to.

We later explored some of our report features. This is included alliteration! We looked at cheetahs through pictures before developing our vocabulary bank and deciding which words we thought worked best to describe our cheetah. We then explored rhetorical questions and fascinating facts later on in the week before our Safari Experience on Friday!

It’s been a busy week in Maths this week. We have been exploring fractions and the different ways of identifying wholes and equal parts. In the rest of the week we developed our awareness of halves before touching base on quarters.

We loved building on our compass and navigation skills this week! Using key clues through directions including N, E, S and W, we had to identify which destination we would end up at as though we were an animal in the African Savannah.

This week we built on our learning from last week and statues. We thought about what kept our bodies strong and what muscle we should develop to keep our frame as strong as we could. Luckily, we all survived the ‘force’ test.
