Monday 26th June 2023

What a great start to health and fitness week we have had. The children started their Monday by creating a picnic of a healthy lunch, ready for our afternoon activities.

When the afternoon arrived, we headed outside and enjoyed our picnic as a class. Once all of the picnic had been eaten, we decided to play some games as a class. It was great to spend some time with them enjoying some games. Once we had completed a few activities, we joined up with years 4 and 1 to play some games with a parachute. We then finished our afternoon by playing the water challenge. The children had to run down the track holding a cup of water on their head. Any water they had left in the cup had to be transferred into a different container to see how much water we saved. This was great fun!

Today we participated in a carousel of different activities. The teachers each led one for the children to participate in. The activities that Ash completed were: speedstacking, basketball, gymnastics, orienteering, archery and golf. Check out some of the different things we got up to!

Wednesday 28th June 2023

Our morning started off with our healthy kick as we got the chance to enjoy some delicious smoothies! We either had strawberry and banana or pineapple, mango and papaya. Some of us also had both! As today marks King Henry VIII’s birthday, we did a little toast to him.

We built on our team building skills by working with Year 3. We played cross the river, heads or tails, pass the hoop and mountain rescue. Miss Brill and I were so impressed with some of the teamwork and general communication.

To finish our Zen afternoon, we joined Year 1 to participate in some Yoga.

Thursday 29th June 2023

Thursday brought us our annual sponsored walk! I was so impressed with the focus, attention and motivation to try and complete as many laps as possible. Our plans changed due to the rain but it didn’t stop us from enjoying it in the afternoon.

Friday 30th June 2023

To end a fantastic week, we held our annual sports day! I have been so thrilled with the enthusiasm, motivation and general progress the children have shown since Year 1. It has been brilliant to see their secret talents come through. Well done to the Red team who won for KS1 but a big well done also to the Green team who won overall with both key stages added together.
