Ash 26th – 30th September 2022

Next week's learning...

English: Modal verbs, writing lists, planning a narrative.
Maths: Comparing objects, numbers, counting in 2s, 3s, 5s and 10s.
Science: Microhabitats.
Phonics: 5a spelling.

Big Question: If you could ask God one question right now, what would it be?

The papier mache process began this week! It was a lot of work but our first layer is ready to go.

We explored our school habitat this week before identifying more living, dead and never alive aspects.

I’ve been so impressed with the attitudes in maths this week. This week we have had a focus on number lines, jumping in tens and ones with a focus of bridging as well estimating numbers in a blank number line. We did a lot of practical learning this week and the children were really impressive with their recall and fact application.

After exploring a new story this week, we explored sentence types, thinking about what each of the characters were saying and the different types of things they could be. These included commands, statements, questions and exclamations. I was very impressed with the prosody used by the children in their role play.
