English: Exploring co-ordinating and subordinating conjunctions. Planning outer own narrative.
Maths: Introduction to addition and subtraction.
Science: World Habitat – categorising.
Phonics: Phase 3 consolidation.

Maths

We had a successful week in maths this week. We reminded ourselves of how to order numbers before looking at our times tables and counting in twos, fives and tens. We also had a look at our three times tables too. The children came up with some really catchy rhymes to help them remember their twos, fives and tens.

PE

We continued to complete carousel activities with Tom this week. In our lesson with Mr N we developed our ball skills are and how to pass to each other at sensible paces. We learnt about the skill of how to kick the ball as well as the positioning of our foot.

Science

This week in science we looked at microhabitats. We explored our school grounds to see what type of insects we could find and the types of insects we had. We explored the types of places they would be living and the conditions too.

Art

We made great progress on a papier-mâché planets this week. We continued to develop these by adding more papier-mâché on top to give more texture. Mrs Lamb also came to help us and show us the best way of how to do this. Inside the classroom we looked at different pieces of artwork and the textures they showed. We had a go at creating some of our own and observing the textures we could see and drawing these too.
