Next week's learning...

English: Non-Chronological Reports.
Maths: Consolidation on our fractions learning.
Science: Reviewing our plants growth.
Phonics: -eer spelling rule.

We had a busy week with our maths learning! This week we refreshed our solving on 1/2, 1/3, 1/4 as well as introducing the children to unit and non-unit fractions. We used a lot of the week to remind ourselves what fractions look like and the importance of knowing the difference between the numerator and the denominator. We had some challenges along the way and not everything was easy, but we persevered and succeeded. We felt a lot more confident by the end of the week.

Building on our learning from last week, we used our computing session to create a musical box. We thought carefully about the sounds we want to make and how we could use actual instruments to make that sound whilst building an accurate algorithm.

This week we applied our African print design onto our polystyrene tiles. We thought about the shapes and the patterns that we want to have as well as how deep to carve. Next week we’ll be using ink to see how our prints turn out.
