Next week's learning...

Health and Fitness Week – All sports related activities!

Welcome back!

It’s been a lovely first week back in Ash Class. The children are full of their summer spirit, the shorts and summer dresses are here and the children have grown that slight bit bigger, looking more and more ready for Year 3!

This week we started our new text: The Queen’s Knickers. Yes, you’re correct – knickers! The children roared with laughter at the title, but to help them set the scene, what better way to describe what they could possibly be learning about other than blindfolding them and making them work out for themselves! This was a great way of getting the children to think about different descriptions, both with and without sight.

We continued our learning on time this week starting by recapping quarter to and quarter past. Following this we moved on to looking at 5 minute intervals before exploring how long different periods of time actually were. To investigate, we participated in different activities to work out how many activities we could complete in a period of seconds.

This week we learned about what biomes are and the Eden Project. We recognised the benefits of using greenhouses to grow plants and crops before making some of our own! What do you think?

With sports day just around the corner, we practised some of our events. There are some real potentials this year!

We reflected on our Music learning over the year this year by recapping some of the different units. We developed our skills on the glockenspiels and enhanced our skills of rhythm, pace and pulse.
