Brazilian Enrichment Day

Ash Class had a fantastic day on Friday taking part in our Brazilian Enrichment Day. It was a fantastic opportunity for the children to be able to rotate around the school, working with different teachers who all delivered different activities. These included food tasting, learning about the rainforest, carnival headdresses, learning portuguese, football, flags and samba dancing! Busy, busy day. THank you Mrs Marsden for organising our day.

This week we completed our learning on shape. We recapped our learning on sorting the 2D shapes into their correct categories as well as identifying the faces, edges and vertices on 3D shapes. The children were really confident in recognising shapes this year!

This week we focused on descriptive passages of writing. To do this, we focused on the cheetah’s hunt and the crocodile. We used a lot of photographic cues to help us remember the patterns of the hunt which reinforced what the children were writing. We also looked at commas in lists which the children were brilliant at!

We properly started our ScratchJnr projects this week. The children were so enthused and motivated. They enjoyed their tinkering stage, exploring different ways of programming the different avatars.

We had a go at planting some of our own seeds this week. We’ve all been thinking about what the most important parts of the growing stages are.
