We had a very successful and engaging week in English. The week began with us consolidationg and completing our learning on Handa’s Surprise by reading each other’s letters that we had written in remote learning and deciding whether or not we would forgive the animal for taking the fruit. We later moved onto poetry where we focused on rhyming words and sequences, culminating in us writing our own Kenning.
…and as quick as a flash, Ash have completed their unit of shape! I have been SO impressed with their recall on shapes, both 2D and 3D. Thank you for all of your support with remote learning! This week we continued to build on our learning by looking at edges and vertices on 3D shapes. To do this, we built our shapes with cocktail sticks, playdough and maybe even a couple of jelly sweets! We also consolidated with 3D shape patterns, sorting 3D shapes and our end of unit assessment.
With Tom this week, Ash worked on their sending and receiving skills through a range of carousel activities. With Mr N this week, we explored gymnastics and in particular, the art of mirroring and balances. I was very impressed!
