Elder Class 12th to 16th December 2022

In maths this week we are learning to understand ratio including constructing scale drawings and understanding scale factors.

In English this week we are completing narrative writing and poetry based on The Polar Express and Twas the Night Before Christmas.

Our Big Question this week is ‘who do you admire or want to be like and why?’

With snow on the ground outside, Elder class had a visit from father Christmas. Apparently they are all on the ‘good list’, which was great news!

In art this afternoon (delayed from Friday), Elders made their Christmas cards. They did a great job!

We are all so proud of Amelie. She joined together with a team of people to undertake a sponsored swim for the Suffolk group of the MND Association. Amelie swam an amazing 64 lengths and helped to raise over £1000. What an incredible achievement – well done, Amelie!

Elder class joined the rest of the school for a bingo session on Thursday morning. It was lovely to see the class helping the younger children with their number finding.

Elder class enjoyed their final Christmas dinner at All Saints’. The crowns looked fabulous!

In art, the children did the printing of their seascapes based on work by John Brunsdon. They turned out brilliantly.

Elder class had a great last day of the autumn term. They played the Christmas Pirate Game, did a quiz with year 5 and then completed a Taskmaster challenge in teams. There was great co-operation and motivation on show. There was also creativity with the challenge of removing their socks without using their hands!
