We are so proud of Orla. She entered a short story into the competition which was part of the Bury St Edmunds Literature Festival and Abbey 1000 years. The story had to be less than 500 words and linked to the Abbey and its history. Orla wrote a fantastic story and was awarded 2nd place in the 9-12 age group. She received her award from author Nicola Upson on Saturday at the Bury St Edmunds picnic in the park. Well done, Orla!
Just a reminder that our leavers’ barbecue will be on Monday 18th July at 11.30am.
Don’t forget to bring in your carrier bag on Monday so you can take your books home.
Despite the extreme heat, Elder class had a lovely final morning together as a whole class. They signed each other’s shirts, received their yearbooks, and had their barbecue lunch together.
In the afternoon, Elders kept cool by dipping their feet in their trays! The coolness aided concentration in the picture quiz and it made art all the more enjoyable.
Elders did some story-telling with sound effects too.
