Elder Class 21st to 25th November 2022

In maths this week we are finding fractions of amounts.

In English this week we are completing various pieces of writing based around the text ‘Everest’.

In science this week we are learning about micro-organisms.

In geography, Elder class were comparing an OS map with a Google earth image of the same place. They tried to identify features from the map onto the aerial image. Great co-operation.

Last week we looked at the poem ‘Future Visions’ by Benjamin Zephaniah. Kitty went home and wrote her own poem entitled ‘I’ll Tell a Tale’, which also focusses on progress and climate issues. I think it is wonderful and I am sure you will agree. Excellent motivation, creativity and independence, Kitty – well done!

In PE, Elder class choreographed their own dance routines to a four-beat rhythm using different dynamics and levels. Great co-operation seen.

In science, Elder class were learning about micro-organisms. They checked their knowledge by playing a board game against their partner where they had to answer questions correctly about micro-organisms to move round the board.

A massive well done to Sophie, who represented the school in the next round of the Suffolk school cross country tournament at Ipswich High School this weekend. She came 4th out of 100 competitors in the year 6 and 7 category and was the fastest year 6 girl in Suffolk – a great achievement!
