Elder Class 26th to 30th September 2022

Our learning this week:

In maths we are learning to understand square and cubed numbers, multiply up to a 4-digit number by a 2-digit number, solve problems with multiplication, use short division.

In English we are learning to write a description using expanded noun phrases, adverbials and non-finite verb openers.

In science we are learning to understand refraction.

Our big question for this week is ‘why is it important to forgive others?’

Elder class started rehearing their Romeo and Juliet scenes with Annie. They practised showing hatred between the Montagues and the Capulets, posed for some ‘family’ group photos, and considered actions they could do whilst delivering their lines to keep the audience engaged. They showed great cooperation, motivation and stickability.

In science, Elder class investigated refraction and then they used prisms to split sunlight into the visible spectrum.

Sophie represented the school in the Bury Schools cross county competition today, running 2km. She showed fantastic motivation and stickability and won the girls’ race. Well done, Sophie, we are very proud of you.
