Elder Class 3rd to 7th October 2022

In maths this week we are learning to use short division, divide using factor pairs, use long division including with remainders, solve problems involving division.

In English this week we are learning to use DADWAVERS to write descriptively, write a diary entry using DADWAVERS to vary our sentence types.

In science this week we are learning about the visible spectrum.

Our big question for this week is ‘what is the best thing about being you?’

Elder class practised their next scene with Annie. This was the fight scene so there was lots of action! There were a few giggles but some very serious acting too. Excellent co-operation and motivation.

Elder class joined the rest of key stage 2 at All Saints’ Church for our annual harvest festival.

Elder class wrote diary entries in role as a character in a short film. They used varied sentence types and lengths to entertain their reader.

Elders wrote openings to a story using pathetic fallacy. They used their varied sentence types and lengths too. They created suspense brilliantly.

In art, Elder class have begun looking at the work of Hundertwasser. They used a viewfinder to pick out a piece of one of his artworks and then copied the detail.
