Elder Class 5th to 9th December 2022

Our learning this week:

In maths we are learning about additive and multiplicative relationships; understanding the vocabulary of ratio and proportion.

In English this week we are completing some writing based on The Polar Express.

Our big question this week is ‘what things have you done that make you most proud of yourself’?

On Monday afternoon, Elders will be making Christmas cakes.

On Tuesday we are going to King Edward VI Upper School to watch a performance of School of Rock. In the afternoon we will be making Christingles before attending the annual Christingle service.

On Friday morning, we have our Christmas decoration activities in Upper Key Stage 2. In 

Elder class enjoyed making their Christmas cakes ready for decorating on Friday. There was lots of independence and co-operation to be seen.

 

The class played a Yahtzee style game based on place value.

 

After a morning watching School of Rock at King Edward Upper School, Elder class made Christingles and then joined the rest of the school for a service at the church with Rev Lawson.

 

Elder class have enjoyed listening to presentation about countries in the World Cup. The children have all done a great job of both preparing their presentations and sharing them with their classmates.

 

Elder class enjoyed their decoration morning making wax wraps and decorating their Christmas cakes. Some superb creativity on show.

 

After a busy morning, Elder class enjoyed a mug of hot chocolate and marshmallows.
