Elder Class 7th to 11th March 2022

In maths this week: we are learning to find the area and perimeter of rectangles, triangles and parallelograms. We are finding the volume of cuboids.

In English this week: we are using the text Darwin’s Dragons to stimulate writing setting descriptions. We are using our inference skills in completing character descriptions.

Elder class enjoyed the spring sunshine during a treasure hunt in maths. They had to match up areas and perimeters of rectangles to form a loop of letters. Great cooperation and motivation evident.


The second session with Kitty, the play-writer was a huge success. Elder class wrote the opening scenes for their plays thinking about character and setting. They made sure they had stage directions too.


In art, Elder class designed blitz-style city skylines. They look really effective.


The sun shone on Elder class during their forest school session this week. As you can see, they all had a great time.


In PE Elder class are learning about fitness. They did some baseline assessments so they could see their current fitness levels.


Elder class enjoyed their whole school enrichment day about Brazil. They moved round to all of the different classrooms and learnt about different aspects of Brazil with the teachers across the school.
