Elder Class 9th to 12th May 2023

Our learning this week:

In maths we are revising our learning in particular area of triangles and parallelograms; finding missing coordinates; solving algebraic equations.

In English we are learning to write a setting description using figurative language; writing a character description using show not tell.

We have our SATS tests this week and the timetable is as follows:

Tuesday: Spelling, grammar and punctuation test and spelling test.

Wednesday: Reading comprehension test.

Thursday: Arithmetic paper and reasoning paper 1.

Friday: Reasoning paper 2.

Elder Class are enjoying their SATS breakfasts and having time to chat and use their paper crackers  (thanks Rupert) with their friends. The additional playtimes to enable them to recover from sitting the papers are well-received too!

SATS week is over and we are so proud of our Elder Class. They have shown wonderful resilience, motivation and maturity. They look fantastic in their leavers’ hoodies – thank you to the PTA for funding these. The class enjoyed the rest of their SATS free day with a game of benchball and a relaxing film.
