13th – 17th June 2022 Horse Chestnut Class

Next week’s learning:

English – Writing our own versions of The Egyptian Cinderella.

Maths – Different types of lines.

History – Ancient Egyptians Gods and Goddesses.

In maths, we have been looking at different types of angles. We explored right angles, obtuse angles and acute angles. We looked at different angles around the classroom and compared them. We played a fun game of Simon says and made different angles with our bodies.

In English, we continued looking at The Egyptian Cinderella. We considered Rhodopis’ feelings in certain parts of the story. We then created story maps and acted out the Pharaoh’s journey to finding his Queen. We then had a class debate, debating the argument that Rhodopis had a happy ending. Lastly, we ended the week coming up with our own ideas for our version of the story.

Ancient Egyptian Enrichment Day:

We had so much fun on our Ancient Egyptian day learning all about Egyptian life. We looked the beliefs the Egyptians had and we even mummified a tomato! The children looked amazing in their costumes too!
