Horse Chestnut 10th-14th January

Next week’s learning:

Maths-  We are looking at multiplying 3 digits by 1 digit.
English – We are developing our biography toolkit.
Science – We are continuing to look at Animals including Humans.

In Maths, we have been looking at multiplying with different methods. This included number lines, column method and partitioning. This developed our skill of multiplying 2 digits by 1 digit with and without exchanging.

In English this week, we really got to know our new class text all about Greta Thunberg. We looked at the features of a biography an compared them to our own class text. We noticed they are written in the past tense and third person. They also include key event in chronological order.

In Science, our exploration of the human body moved to the mouth. In particular, we looked at teeth. We learnt about the different types of teeth and their functions. We also compared the teeth to animals with different diets such as herbivores and carnivores.

In PE, we had a very relaxing lesson. We explored Yoga and how this can be calming. We looked at moves such as the Warrior, Tree and Down Dog. When doing the moves we told ourselves we are kind, resilient and brave.
