Horse Chestnut 22nd-26th April

Next week’s learning:

English – Writing biographies
Maths – Decimals

English:

This week in English we read about Howard Carter and his discovery of the tomb. We created a telegram using the perfect past tense. We also created diary entries describing the discovery of the tomb. We used expanded noun phrases to extend this. We also created news paper reports on the opening of the tomb. We used the 4ws; who, what, where and when to write them.

Maths:

This week we have been continuing our work on decimals. We have been focusing on ordering and comparing them. We also used our place value charts to support our learning with flexibly partition decimals.

Science:

We looked at building and drawing circuits. We looked at how a circuit needs a cell, wires and a bulb. It also needs to be connected in order to be a closed circuit and allow the energy to flow. We also added switches to our circuits.
