Horse Chestnut 27th-31st January

Next week’s learning:

Maths – Correspondence problems and efficient multiplication.

English – Continuing our suspense writing

Maths:

We continued looking at division this week. Our learning developed into dividing with remainders in our answers. Using place value charts and having a remainder zone helped support our understanding. We also looked at a practical method of bus stop, thinking about our sharing. We then looked at dividing 3 digit numbers. We had to think about exchanging and when that was necessary.

English:

We continued writing our suspense stories based around Neil Gaiman’s The Wolves in the Walls. We looked at using short sentences, similes and personification. We had to think of adjectives to describe a wall. We had an mystery box filled with different textures. This helped us generate adjectives.
