Maths:
This week we explored looking at converting between mixed numbers and improper fractions. We used our knowledge of times tables and division to help us convert. We a,so looked at equivalent fractions. We used a number line to support this learning and help us see the equivalent fractions. We also looked at fraction walls and how they can be used to find equivalent fractions. The children have done really well to remember their vocabulary: numerator and denominator.
English:
This week looked at creating dialogue based on Tar Beach. We thought about the characters of Cassie and BeBe flying through the air. We considered what conversation they might have. We then turned this into a small script. This introduces us to next week’s task where we will create film scripts based on the book. We also wrote a persuasive letter as the character Daddy trying to pursued the Union to let him join.
Science:
We created simple electrical circuits consisting of two wires, a battery and a bulb. We had a go at building and taking apart the circuits.
