Bee project

This week in science we have been learning about bees. As the class’ home learning task they had to create a 3D model bee for our competition for the Suffolk farming association. I was blown away by the creativity and resourcefulness of all the children and they loved putting it together as part of the beehive.

The children have really impressed me this week with their mathematical skills. We continue looking at lights and adding and subtracting legs whilst covering the concept of perimeter. We used several practical activities to help us with calculating perimeter skills and had to work in teams to work out the perimeter of the shapes drawn on the playground.

In PE this week we have been continuing with our lessons of fitness. We moved onto looking at agility and played several games requiring the children to work as teams and use their fast feet to get past their teammate.
