Lime 5th-9th September 2022

Next Week’s Learning:

English: The Last Garden: To plan and write dialogue between characters

Maths: Place Value

Science: What is Light?

BIG QUESTION: Why are memories so important?

In English this week we started our new class text- The Last Garden. We were left a parcel of seeds and a request to create our own garden. We planted the seeds and wrote some abstract noun phrases to label our class garden. I have been so impressed with the range of vocabulary that the children have used in their writing this week. Keep it up Limeys!

In Maths this week we were focusing on the place value and representations of numbers. The class were set a challenge of finding the numbers hidden around the room and partitioning them into their correct representations using part part whole.

Our Science unit this term is Light. We started our unit by thinking about what we already know about Light and recording it. We discussed a light source and sorted cards into objects we thought were and weren’t light sources. Great collaborative learning year 3.

We started our PE unit on rounders this week and focused on the four main areas and players – Batter, bowler, fielder and backstop.
