Next week’s learning:
English: The street beneath my feet- explanation text. Repetition for effect, action verbs, similes, dialogue, adverbial phrases.
Spelling focus- ‘ey’ making the /ai/ sound.
Maths: Dividing a 2 digit number by a 1 digit – no exchange, flexible partitioning and with remainders.
Science: soil- the importance of soil.
This week's learning:
English: In English, we started our unit of work based on the text – The Street beneath my feet. The children were fascinated with the different layers beneath us and how the book showed this.
P.E. : In our first P.E. lesson, the children investigated different yoga poses. In their second lesson, they worked on their hopping and jumping skills.
Music: the children showed off their wonderful singing skills.
Science: the children investigated clay, sandy, peat and chalky soils. They sieved them and added them to water and recorded their observations.
