Willow 1st – 5th July 2024

This week in Willow Class we will be:

English: In English this week we will be continuing with the text, Anglo-Saxon boy.

Maths: In maths this week we are revisiting previous learning: Measuring angles, multiplying decimals by 10, 100 and 1000, dividing decimals by 10, 100 and 1000, multistep problems working out the cost of items and then the subsequent change.

Science – Our topic is Sustainability focusing on plastic pollution.

Big Question – What’s the most valuable thing in the world?

On Thursday we held our Anglo-Saxon enrichment day. Shield making, weaving, coin making, cooking, and spear (javelin) throwing! What a great day with amazing costumes, 

Willow went above and beyond with their homework project, what amazing Anglo-Saxon houses and villages and such a range of mediums. Well done all!

In science this week we were looking at reversible and irreversible changes. In the video below we added bicarbonate of soda to vinegar to produce a chemical reaction. We discussed how a new substance (in this case carbon dioxide) was produced.
