Willow 27th – 3rd March 2023

This week in Willow Class we will be:

English: This week we will be starting a two-week unit on a traditional text called The Firebird. We will be focusing on writing using different sentence structures.

Maths: We will be continuing with out topic of area and perimeter this week focusing on area of rectangles and compound shapes. At the end of the week, we will start our next topic on statistics.

Science – Our new topic this term is forces, our next lesson will be on Air Resistance.

In Computing this week, Willow have been programming microbits. Can they tell you how they did it?.

World Book Day! Super costumes, paired reading with Ash Class, masked reader and costume parade. 

Paired editing their narratives in English – great purple pen work Willow’s!

In Science we have been looking at gravity. We spoke about the difference between weight and mass and the common misconceptions. Willow Class then used Newton metres to measure the weight of objects and compared this to their mass. A great explanation from Luke here (a little noisy in the background)!
