This week in Willow Class we will be:
English: In English this week – after holding our class debate- we will be writing formal persuasive letters to the (fictional) Mayor of the island.
Maths: In maths this week we will be finishing our unit on multiplying and dividing – focusing on multiplying and dividing by 10 100 and 1,000.
Science – Our new topic in science is Space. Our first lesson this week will focus on The Solar System.
In our class discussions this week we will be starting to focus on oracy skills.
Have a look below to see what we’ve been up to this week:
In science this week, we were looking at the difference between weight and mass. Willow class used Newton metres to measure items around the classroom. We looked at the link between mass and weight. For example – a item with a mass of 100g had a weight of 1N.
In History we looked at the importance of maize to the Maya people. They all had a go at drawing their own maize god – Hun Hunahpu.
In maths we have been looking at prime numbers as well as square numbers. We used 100 grids and counters to help us with both of these tasks.
Willow Class have very nearly finished their art work inspired by the Maya and Dan Fenelon.
