Look at what we have been up to this week
Week beginning 19th October
Elder have produced some fabulous artwork based on work by Hundertwasser.

Week beginning 12th October
We enjoyed listening to some of the members of class presenting their half term projects on famous Britons. Well done for speaking so clearly and finding such interesting information to share.

In art, Elder class enlarged their sketches from last week.

In science, Elders used their cooperation skills to classify animals into groups using branching tree diagrams.

Week beginning 5th October
During ‘Harvest Week’ we have done some harvest cooking, written some autumn and harvest themed poems and enjoyed doing harvest art. We hope you enjoy our short film presentation.
We started the week with some harvest cooking. Elder class made tomato soup and vegetable soup to sample in class and an apple crumble each to take home and enjoy.

Week beginning 28th September
We wrote haiku poems based on autumn. We worked individually, in pairs and in groups to share our ideas.

We watched the Big anti-bullying assembly 2020 and wrote our support group on hand prints.

Elder class had a visit from PCSO Jess today. She talked about good friends and bad friends and things the class can do to protect themselves and their friends from being taken advantage of.

We had an assembly led by Reverend Parsons.

Elder class enjoyed their music lesson. They played along to ‘Happy’ and composed their own class music using ‘Quickbeats’.

Week beginning 21st September
Elder class enjoyed cricket in the sunshine with Tom this week.

In science, Elders discovered the visible rainbow when sunlight is refracted through a prism. They made their own colour wheels. When the strings were pulled the colours merged.

Week beginning 14th September
Elder class really impressed me with their short stories based on the film clip ‘Wing’. There was some fantastic creativity to be seen.

In science we learnt about refraction and completed two experiments to show the optical illusions refraction can cause.

We had our first whole school assembly of the year! It was via Zoom and we all agreed that Mrs Lamb did a great job! It was funny seeing the other children in their classrooms on our whiteboard.

Elder class have designed self-portraits in the style of Romero Britto. They look amazing on display in our classroom.

Week beginning 7th September
Elder class had a great time with Tom in PE doing cricket on the field in the sunshine.

Elder class used dadwavers as a format for improving their sentence structures.

They have begun making self portraits in the style of Romero Britto.

Elder class wrote a story based on a film clip they had watched.

They worked together to make videos explaining how we can see.
