Art
The papier mache process has begun! We had to listen very carefully to make sure we had enough depth and layers so that our shell holds enough rigidity.
Science
This week we explored fish! We thought about the features that made fish classify in that animal group as well as the 4 basic needs they should have to survive. We were able to compare this to the mammals and birds that we identified the previous weeks. Later in the lesson, we went into the outside area and dissected a sardine. We took it apart to try and find different features including the fins, tail, gills and scales. Some of us were also able to find internal parts including the spine.
History
After learning about Columbus’ journey, we thought about the type of life his crew would have had, especially with the voyage being a much longer trip than expected. We spoke about their life and the food they would have had. We had the chance to eat a sea biscuit which went down better than expected!
