Next week, we are learning.....
Literacy– Next week,
we will be creating and writing Christmas cards.
Maths– Next
week, we will be talking about our daily routines and the differences between
morning, afternoon and evening. We will be sequencing a familiar event.
Phonics– Next
week, we will revising Phase 3 of our Phonics scheme ‘Unlocking Letters and
Sounds’. We will not be learning any new sounds this week but revising the
sounds we have learnt previously and focusing on CEWs.
Topic/UTW– We will
be taking part in a variety of Christmas themed activities including making
reindeer food, Christmas bingo and attending a Christmas Carol concert.
This week, we have been learning….
Our Christmas Nativity~ The Sleepy Shepherd
We have been busy over the last few week’s rehearsing for our Christmas performance of The Sleepy Shepherd. We were excited this week to perform firstly to the rest of the school and then later to all our families. We were amazing ~ true superstars and we are incredibly proud of you all.
Christmas Lunch 2024
Another part of the Christmas celebrations this week was our school Christmas lunch. We put on some Christmas music, pulled our Christmas crackers and wore our Christmas hats to enjoy a yummy Christmas dinner! Yum!
Maths
This week, we have been learning all about 4 sided shapes. We focused on squares and rectangles and spotted them around the classroom. We talked about the properties of these shapes and the differences between them. We challenged the Acorns to make a square and a rectangle using sticks.
