UTW- Dinosaurs
We have kicked our Summer 2 half term with a dinosaur theme. It has proved very popular with the Acorns. We have had lots of themed provision including a dinosaur small world and a dinosaur gloopy swamp to explore. We also challenged the Acorns to rescue some dinosaurs trapped in ice- lots of problem solving and team work was used to release those poor dinosaurs!
DT- Split Pin Joins
Over the year, the Acorns have been learning different joining techniques. This week, we explored the split pin join. We used a egg template to cut in half and then overlapped the two parts to make a hole using a hole punch. We then attached the split pin to join the two parts. We loved how we could open and shut the egg especially after we put the baby dinosaurs inside!
