Next Week:

Literacy– Next week we will be continuing to read our text ‘Mr Gumpy’s Outing’. We will be drawing our plans to describe a part of the story and writing words and captions to explain our drawings!

Phonics– Next week, we will be continuing our Phase 2 Phonics. We will be introducing and learning how to recognise and say the sounds l, ll, ss, as well as developing our segmenting to read skills and our use of whiteboard time. We will also be practising our common exception words ‘we have learnt so far.

Maths – Next week we will be exploring 2 and 3 part repeated patterns – how to spot, continue and create our own.

Topic/UTW– Next week we will exploring our understanding of Autumn!

This week we have been learning…

Maths – We have been amazing at adding one more within the amounts of 1, 2 and 3.

UTW/Topic – We have been learning all about Diwali and Florence Nightingale. Acorn class were amazing at talking about people who help us as well as recalling facts about Florence Nightingale we learnt. We also had a brilliant time creating our own Rangoli patterns, making diya lamps and enjoying the drumming workshop for Diwali.

Literacy – Acorn class are becoming brilliant at learning new vocabulary as well as sequencing and explaining the different parts of a story using our story friends.
