Next Week:
Literacy– Next week we will be introducing our new text ‘Mr Gumpy’s Outing’. We will be immersing ourselves int he text and using our story friends to sequence and understand the story.
Phonics– Next week, we will be continuing our Phase 2 Phonics. We will be introducing and learning how to recognise and say the sounds h, b, f, ff as well as developing our segmenting to read skills and our use of whiteboard time. We will also be practising our common exception words ‘no’, ‘I’, and ‘go’.
Maths – Next week we will be exploring how to add one more to different amounts, understanding that the number gets bigger.
Topic/UTW– Next week we will exploring the Hindu festival of light Diwali as well as looking at the past with Florence Nightingale.
This week we have been learning…
Maths – We have been amazing at exploring the numbers 1, 2 and 3. Acorn class have done brilliantly at recognising the numerals, subitising the amounts as well as building the numbers and representing them with pictures!
UTW/Topic – We have been learning about our 5 senses and how they help us understand and notice the world around us.
Literacy – Acorn class have continuing their work with ‘The Giant Jam Sandwich’ and have all drawn and written something about the story. Well done Acorns!
