- PE is on Tuesday (please remember to come to school in your P.E kits).
- Don’t forget your water bottles
- Don’t forget to label your uniform so we can make sure it gets back to the correct person.
- Library Books- We will always change these on a Monday afternoon.
- Wednesday afterschool- Parents are welcome to join their children to visit school library and borrow a book.
Week Commencing 22nd May 2023
We are learning this week:
Literacy- This week, we will be focusing on rhyme. We will be finding rhyming pairs and continuing our own rhyming string using a class favourite ‘Oi Frog’ by Kes Gray.
Maths- This week we will understand that shapes can be combined and separated to make new shapes. We will fit shapes together and break them apart, noticing the new shapes we have made.
Phonics– This week, we are continuing Phase 4 as part of the Unlocking Letters and Sounds scheme. We will learning how to recognise and read adjacent consonants in words for example ‘lf’, ‘pt’, ‘fr’. These are not taught as a single unit of sound but used to recognise and help blend longer words.
Our adjacent consonants we are focusing on this week are: sp,st,sw, tr, tw
Common Exception Word: when, out, what
Topic– Our overarching topic this term is ‘Isn’t it Amazing?’. This week our theme will be bees. We will learn about the importance of bees and what we can do to save them. We will be investigating honeycomb from a real bee hive and learning about the bee life cycle.
