Maths
After finding fact families a little tricky, we got practical. We recognised that there were patterns in the number sentences, so using cards we practised moving them around to see what was changing and what was remaining the same. We understood how the larger number for addition goes at the end, whereas the larger number for subtraction goes at the start.
Science
This week, we explored hygiene. In particular, we focused on hand washing. We used a glitterbug potion to see where the germs were hiding on our hands. We had some real mixtures but it was fascinating to pin point exactly where the germs harboured. This then enabled us to reinforce the importance of washing our hands properly. We looked at the correct process, understood how long we should wash them for and demonstrated this after our experiment.
Diwali Day
We had a great day celebrating all things Diwali. We drummed, danced, learnt about Rama and Sita, made diwa lamps and Rangoli patterns.
