English

Our English week has been busy. Poetry galore. This week we looked at the poem “The Rhythm of Life” by Michael Rosen. We started off by considering why poetry is important and what it offers. We also explored the features of this poem and listened to it being read by Michael Rosen himself. Later we considered imagery and thought what we pictured when we were reading the words. We added actions to this and performed it!

Later in the week we had a go at creating our own version of the poem and even performed this to the school in our Celebration Assembly. Go Ash!
Our poem went…

Hands on your heart
feel the rhythm of the beat.

Hands on the sun
feel the rhythm of the heat.

Hands on the cat
feel the rhythm of the purr.

Hands on the bear
feel the rhythm of the fur.

Hands on the ball
feel the rhythm of the bounce.

Hands on the leopard
feel the rhythm of the pounce.

Hands on the croc
feel the rhythm of the snap.

Hands on your thigh
feel the rhythm of your lap.

Hands on the earth
feel the rhythm of life.
Hands on the earth
feel the rhythm of life.
Hands on the earth
feel the rhythm of life.

Maths

We have been looking at adding two 2-digit numbers together. This week we used practical elements as well as transferring these into whiteboards and our books.

Geography

We really got to know our world this week and some of the landmarks found within these continents. We were great at putting them together.
